Have a Heart for Christmas

The Readiness Center is a ministry focusing on breaking the cycle of poverty.  They serve our community by offering parents and children tools for overcoming the barriers to a productive and healthy life.  They offer a comprehensive preschool program for kids age 3-5.  Their after-school City Kids program gives kids assistance with homework and extra help in academic skills.  The third branch of ministry is to the parents, encouraging them in parenting, home-management, computer, GED, and other employment skills.

The kids on our Heart for Christmas tree in the foyer are those currently enrolled in the ministry programs.  The gifts you supply are given by parents or the Readiness Center as a tangible expression of Jesus' love for children.  The Mission Committee is also providing a book about Jesus for each child.

Please purchase a gift of warm clothing ($15-20 range) and bring it back - wrapped with their name on it (not signed by you) and the heart tag loosely attached for sorting purposes.  Sign up and take a name off the tree.

Gifts must be at The Chapel by Sunday, December 13, to be delivered for their Christmas party.
