My husband and I initially took FPU about 3 years ago and we liked the concepts the program taught, but we thought we could do it better our way, which of course, didn't work. So 3 years later and more debt, we've been on the program (the right way!) for 6 months now and have paid off about $5,000 in the 3 months we've been in the class and have $1,000 in savings. We've cut up our credit cards and we can see the tiny little light at the end of the tunnel. The benefits have been numerous: Ourmarriage is more solid, we communicate better and we even enjoy our vacations now without worrying about how much more debt we're incurring. This is the first Christmas we've  bought presents with cash and we've actually bought more than in past years! This program has changed the way we look at money and the way we spend it. The value we've gotten from the class has been immeasurable!
