Corey joined the staff at The Chapel in October 2010. He graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor’s degree in 2003 and from Phoenix Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Biblical Communication degree in 2010.  Corey’s previous ministry experience includes serving as an intern with Athletes in Action at Butler University, and as a High School & College Pastor in Arizona.  Corey is married to Kasey and they have two amazing kids, Micah (2) and Adelyn (4 months).

I was born...at Memorial Hospital (now Lakeland) in St. Joseph, Michigan on the same day that President Ronald Reagan and Babe Ruth were born…but a few years later!!

Favorite Bible character...Gideon. I’ve experienced both Gideon’s lack of faith as well as his soaring faith in God throughout my life.

My childhood ambition was...to be a professional baseball player.

My significant others are…Kasey (wife), Micah (son), and Adelyn (daughter).

My favorite city outside of St. Joseph/Stevensville…Phoenix, AZ. Warm weather, mountains, Spring Training games, sunshine, desert landscape, great golf, Phoenix Seminary, and In-N-Out Burger…what’s not to love?!

Transforming experience… my time in Arizona. I grew leaps and bounds both intellectually and spiritually through seminary and my first experience pastoring in a local church.

Best advice I would give a 20 year old… walk with God, don’t settle for less than God’s best for you with a spouse, work hard, save money, follow through on your commitments, and let integrity be your most attractive trait.

Likes… spending time with my family, seeing our kids smile and hearing them laugh, eating good food, exploring new places, watching and playing sports, studying and teaching the Bible, hiking through the mountains, and swimming at the beach.
